ADS announced today that they will have 20 more iSigns installed throughout Scotland to prepare for the thousands of visitors who will be touring the country this year, equipped with the latest smartphone and pad technologies.
Head of Operations Paddy McKay advised that ‘These new iSigns will be installed in collaboration with Scotland’s most technology aware destinations such as Loch Lomond, Argyll and the Isles, Stirling and Fort William. We are also in advanced discussions with others and Visit Scotland is showing keen interest in developments as the new Visitor Information Centre strategy moves forward.’
Campbell Cromar, ADS owner stated ‘I am delighted to see further investment by our Destination partners to help boost tourism revenues this year. He said ‘The boom in use of handsets over the last 6 months will see 40% of visitors planning their holidays on the move in 2012. The ADS iSigns will facilitate destination focussed information, with exactly the same web application being available to download to handsets. Specific information such as directions to visitor attractions, hotel and B&B late availability, boat and excursion bookings, download of brochures and websites are easily exchanged from iSign to handset using the magical Quick Response (QR) code echnologies.’
